General Information: If you are looking for one of Las Vegas’s most unique venues, you have found it. This majestic location demands attention, and gets it. The art-deco style architecture was inspired by the design of the nearby Hoover Dam, perhaps most obviously reflected in the lobby statue replica by Benjamin Victor of the dam’s Winged Figures of the Republic.
The building, designed by  David M. Schwarz Architects to give a sense of the 1920 & ’30s, is composed of Indian limestone, bronze, wood and aluminum. Each venue is incredibly unique, but all offer excellent sound, the latest in theatrical technology, beautiful design and attention to detail. Rooms available for your event range from the intimate to the grand and include a jazz club complete with a second balcony level, a grand lobby with marble flooring and steel accents as well as two outdoor locations.
These extremely versatile rooms hold anywhere from 7-500 seated guests (620 standing) for ceremonies and receptions. The sound and views were carefully considered when designing each of the spaces. When I went on my tour of the venues, it felt like each stop was more grand than the last. Some rooms have windows or balconies with views looking at downtown Las Vegas or Symphony Park, others have elaborate staging and lighting set ups to make your grand wedding a very memorable affair.
It is important to note that the Smith Center requires you use a planner for your event.
Full list of locations (floor plans and photos)
- Reynolds Hall: Reynolds Hall which has 2,056 seats is the largest of the venues, and the stage, where events are held, can hold 500 (seated) or 580 (standing)
- The Grand Lobby: The lobby attached to Reynolds Hall is a grand open space with two floors. The first floor features a grand stairway. This beautiful awe inspiring space holds 500 (standing) 280 (seated)
- Troesh Studio Theatre: A very flexible studio space with windows, built in dance floor and large theatrical screens, this venue  can hold 240 (seated) or 300 (standing)
- Cabaret Jazz: A 3,700 square foot dual floored room with screen and stage built to hold live music events, 244 (seated) or 272 (standing) The second level offers a birds eye view of the lower floor and would make for fantastic photo opportunitiesÂ
- Courtyard (outdoors): 6,200 square feet of outdoor space connects Reynolds Hall and the Boman Pavilion and offers a wind protected space surrounded by architecture and foliage. 280 (seated) or 620 (standing)
- Mezzanine Lounge: 1,500 square feet can host up to 50 (seated) or 100 standing people on the second floor of the Grand Lobby
- Founders Room: This small, uniquely decorated room with burgundy and wood details on the second floor of the Grand Lobby overlooks Symphony Park and Boman Pavilion. It’s great for smaller parties, but can host up to 60 seated guests
- Upper Lobby: On the balcony level of Reynolds Hall is the Upper Lobby, which is similar to the Grand Lobby in design, has a great view of downtown Las Vegas, and an open air balcony overlooking Symphony Park. The space can host 400 (standing) 270 (seated). Attached to the Upper Lobby are two smaller venues, Carillon Salon and West Lounge, able to host 7 or 10 people respectively.Â
- Symphony Park (outdoors): A 2 acre park connected to the Smith Center is a palm tree ringed green space perfect for outdoor receptions or ceremonies
First and foremost this is a premiere venue and concert hall for the performing arts, and it can be difficult to secure a date as there are always events, concerts and shows going on. Be flexible with your availability is the recommendation. This super exclusive location commands high prices as well, so be prepared to budget a larger than average amount to your venue if you chose to marry here. Honestly, if I could do it again, I would love to be married here.Â
In addition to wedding ceremonies and receptions, they have also hosted proposals. Perfect for the partner who is obsessed with theatre or performance art.
