Kassandra and Sean began as many of you do, planning a wedding at home. Disappointed by the venue selection available to them there, they eventually decided to host a destination wedding in one of their favorite places: Las Vegas!
Despite never having seen Valley of the Falls in person, this brave couple booked it and saw it for the first time on their wedding day. Like many others, they fell in love with the romantic, tropical and private atmosphere and it turned out to be the perfect spot for their Vegas wedding. A pink and white theme prevailed for the ceremony, with the party continuing into the night in a Vista suite high above the Vegas Strip.
WHY LAS VEGAS?
We chose Las Vegas because it is one of our favorite places. We have shared some of our best memories there. After searching for about six months for the perfect wedding venue in Oregon, I started looking into a destination weddings and fell in love with the Valley of the Falls the moment I saw a picture of it and knew this would be the perfect plan for us.
THE CEREMONY — VALLEY OF THE FALLS, MANDALAY BAY
We used the Valley of the Falls at Mandalay Bay for the ceremony, which was perfect. I also went through one of their wedding coordinators, Mariel Serra, who was amazing. I never saw the venue before I walked down the aisle and everything turned out more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Mariel was quick to respond to all emails and calls and kept me informed of everything and made my ceremony go perfectly without ever having a rehearsal. She was very organized and made me feel at ease, on what could have been a stressful day. My wedding package with Mandalay Bay also included the officiant, who did an amazing job and the floral. The photography and videography was done by Cashman Photography.
THE RECEPTION — VISTA SUITE, MANDALAY BAY
We got the Vista suite for the reception, which fit our small group perfectly and had the most amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip. Our ceremony was very laid back and just consisted of dancing, cocktails and a light dinner that we had catered. Our cake and cupcakes came from the Retro Bakery, which turned out perfect and they also delivered it to the resort. My hair and makeup was done at the Bellagio Salon. I chose this salon because my friend’s sister works there and I am very glad I did.
The thing that stood out the most to me about this experience was the lack of stress I felt. I have in a couple weddings where things have been very hectic and unorganized and I almost felt as if I was missing something because everything went so smoothly and perfect.
LAS VEGAS WEDDING TIPS FROM KASSANDRA + SEAN
Do NOT plan your bachelor and bachelorette parties the night before the wedding. A lot of our friends and family flew in the night before the wedding so we decided it would be a good night for it, but not everyone was feeling up to par the next day for our reception, so that is something that I wish would have gone different. I also wish I would have had more pictures taken at the reception, as we did not have the photographer for that.
GUESTCOUNT + BUDGET
We had about 22 people at our wedding which ended up costing us around $7,500 for everything.
