Do you recall the introduction to the 30 Days Gorgeous series we got from makeup artist Amelia C in January? I’m so excited to be sharing a shoot from that series today! Part of the reason for the 30 Days Gorgeous series was to try something new and experiment. The photos by Mindy Bean Photography really highlight this trendsetting look today. Get inspired!
Henna is an ancient cultural art dating back centuries, a beauty process that uses natural plant dyes to temporarily tattoo patterns and designs onto skin. In many cases, especially in Muslim and Hindu culture, it is traditional to have a henna party ahead of the wedding for the bride and her ladies.
The application of this beauty ritual takes hours in some cases, so the bridal party entertains the bride while she has the henna applied and while it dries.
The intricate designs are traditionally done in red, the natural color that is in the henna leaves. But Amelia decided to shake things up a bit and used a white henna, dotting it with rhinestones, applied freehand (um, WOW!) by Chetna Sutaria of Henna Art Las Vegas.
The results are absolutely stunning, as you can see. A deep jewel toned eyeshadow with golden highlights paired with heavy lashes and bright pink lip bring a vibrant feel to this bridal inspiration.

I just looove the hair and make up. The colors are so vibrant, but just the perfect amount of contrast. And of course, the white henna was another beautiful idea.
