Wedding Rescue: Spooky Scary Halloween Wedding at The Grove

It’s a nightmare in the making – you spend time picking the perfect spot for your wedding, pick the right time for all of those you love and hold near and dear to be able to attend, and put a deposit down on your venue. But then, your chosen place suddenly shuts down without warning.

Now, imagine you are flying in for your wedding from thousands of miles away. That’s exactly what happened to Lindsay and Brian from England who were planning a spooky wedding at Eli Roth’s Goretorium, a dream wedding they had saved up two years for. The gorey year-round haunted house (and wedding chapel) closed suddenly on October 2, less than a month before their wedding.

Left scrambling for a new place to hold their wedding (along with about a dozen other couples) Lindsay and Brian told their story to KNTV, which was broadcast locally.

That was when an extraordinary team of vendors stepped in, donating their time, talents and energy to make Lindsay and Brian’s dream Vegas wedding happen on Halloween. And not only that, they made it cute’n’creepy and spooky-scary just like the couple had hoped their Goretorium wedding was going to be.

Who was the fantastic team behind this event? The Grove‘s Tim and Janine Karas and their supporting cast of staff: Donna, Zina, Carlina, Ali and Justin (who played The Hunchback!) turned the venue into a spot fit for Halloween nuptials. Michelle, of Mitchies Munchies who made the most amazing two tiered classic wedding cake topped with a gorey twist: an anatomically correct bleeding heart. They don’t call her the femme fatale of fondant for nothing!

Officiating the vows was a costumed and very in character Reverend Jimmy Mac. Jodie Bayardo took care of the bride’s beauty on the day, and behind the lens was Gaby Jeter of Gaby J Photography.

The venue was decked out in Halloween finery, turning a beautiful garden gazebo into a to a spooky wonderland! Lindsay looked absolutely stunning in her black gown, carrying a feather and blood red rose bouquet. She was met at the altar by her stylish groom and their ghoulish celebrant … who emerged from a coffin!

I’m so happy when nightmare wedding have happy endings. Congratulations to Lindsay and Brian, and a hearty round of applause to the amazing wedding angels behind this one. Or is that wedding ghosties…?
