Brandi and TJ were married in a destination wedding with rustic details and accents of mustard yellow and charcoal gray this spring. Following an outdoor ceremony at an MGM Signature patio, the couple and their son celebrated with a reception at Joe’s Stonecrab at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace! JamieY Photography was there to capture the moments and many handmade details of this very personal destination wedding.
Brandi wore a gown from Angelina Bridal Couture, with alterations by Donna Savoy of Parker, Colorado. Originally the dress had a long train, but was altered to a tea-length and flowers and buttons were added. Some of the remaining dress fabric was incorporated into the bridal and bridesmaids flower bouquets!

We wanted a fun, low-stress wedding destination spot and what better place than Vegas! We both love vacationing there. Brandi has family in California, so it was a good spot in between California and Colorado!
Having all of our beloved family and friends together in one place to celebrate such a joyful event truly stands out the most.  Having our son be involved and with us during the ceremony and reception was SO special and also made the experience very emotional for many guests and us!
The planners in Las Vegas are very experienced. They understood that even though they plan weddings everyday, this was my first time! We were still able to add our own details and style which made our wedding day unique to us! I would recommend staying in close touch with the planners and possibly going out to visit once during the planning process, if able, to help ease the nerves!
Post-wedding, the restaurant reception featured a huge array of handmade and DIY accents and details, including an amazing family made bench that served as a guestbook and that absolutely realistic cake topper.
Brandi and TJ: “The mason jars for each guest filled with colored M&M and signs reading ‘Love is Sweet” was a DIY project. We also made our own programs, which we were able to make just how we wanted! For the rehearsal dinner we placed pictures of us in large mason jars filled with olive oil and tied with a ribbon…which was an easy, cute touch!”

My favorite detail was definitely the handcrafted bench guestbook. The story behind it is incredibly touching –
Brandi writes: “It turned out SO neat and is something that I treasure the most from that day! TJ’s dad drove it back home in his truck to Colorado. His grandfather (who is close to blind and built the bench), painted it with a waterproof clear coat once it was signed. It now sits in our kitchen and I read it almost everyday as I pass by. His grandpa was not able to travel to the wedding so it was a great way to have him with us on our wedding day! He also built a wooden box which we now store our wedding keepsakes in!”
