I once read that if you were going on a first date with someone, the chances of it becoming something lasting were better if you did something that got your adrenalin flowing. I wonder if the same can be said for your wedding day!

With Halloween approaching, it’s a perfect time to do a round up the more unusual themed wedding Las Vegas has to offer: the dark and scary! Not just limited to October 31, these wedding ceremonies are available year round to couples with a bit of a love for the scary side.

The just opened Eli Roth’s Goretorium, which is a new adult “year-round horror feature” on the Strip created by actor/director Eli Roth (he did a little movie called Hostel), has three screaming good time wedding packages, again, not just for Halloween. They all start with a haunted maze pass for the bride and groom leading straight to the wedding chapel, with vows exchanged infront of a minister of your choosing – will it be zombie slayer, gorey guy or vampire? Then, it’s til death do you part. These packages sound like a lot of fun, and would make for an incredibly memorable wedding. The ceremony can include details like a “surprise haunting”, make-up and a zombie gown or bloody garters available for rent, in addition to other creeptacular details.

Pricing starts at $1,000. For more information: Goretorium Las Vegas wedding packages

The Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel offers a number of pre-packaged weddings, ranging from ones run by a zombie minister to the “Prince of Darkness” himself (er, well, an impersonator, that is) Alice Cooper, those with a vampiric slant (both classic and Twilight variety) and even a ghoul-like Elvis, come to officiate your wedding from beyond the grave! All of their weddings provide “atmospheric fog and lighting” and a minister, dressed to impress. And the weddings are offered year round, not just on Halloween.

Pricing ranges from $550-$899 For more information: Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel

The desert-based and nearly-deserted town of Nelson, Nevada (about an hour’s drive from Las Vegas) offers packages for those wanting to get hitched in the serene remains of a now sparsely populated mining town. The photo opportunities are amazing (many couples drive here just to do shoots) and who else can say they were wed in an almost* ghost town? Scenic Las Vegas Weddings has packages which make it easy to get married out there, it might be a bit of a pain to set it up yourself.

Pricing for packages starts at $599. For more information: Scenic Las Vegas Weddings

Lastly, for those special themed touches, perhaps the car will make the day? Gothic Limos, a company based in southern California, will drive to Vegas in their classic vintage hearse to deliver you to your wedding…horror themed or not.

Maybe the themed wedding is too much? For a few suggestions on cute add-ins as a nod to Halloween for your October wedding, check out the list of Halloweeny wedding Etsy finds here.
