Dinner receptions at some of the fine restaurants on Mandalay Bay’s property can also be included, such as STRIPSTEAK, Mix, Border Grill or Rí Rá. The real advantage here is venue choice. The “Love on Ice” package allows you get wed in the wintery atmosphere of the Minus 5 Ice Lounge. “miX Premium” package sets up your wedding on the top of the hotel at Alain Ducasse’s miX Lounge and Restaurant, in the airy, futuristic venue.
Outside Photographers Allowed: No, not in the chapel or “officially booked” venues
General Information: Although the location places it very far south on the Strip indeed, Mandalay Bay makes up for it with a fantastic array of venue choices.
Overall there are eleven different ceremony venues, both indoors and outdoors. Several options are tropical in nature and are poolside at the expansive Mandalay Beach area, one is at the Four Seasons gardens, a few are sky high in restaurants or in suites, there is a chilly one at Minus 5 bar, one “under water” in the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium, and some water side (but not by the pool) at the swan filled Swan Court or Valley of the Falls.
THEwedding chapel, the main chapel at Mandalay Bay, has a color theme of cream mixed with dark brown woods and is classy and minimal. It overlooks the pool and beach area at Mandalay Bay. The capacity is 100 guests. The outdoor locations feature touches of the tropics such as Valley of the Falls – the waterfall situated at the front of Mandalay Bay nestled amongst palms and foliage, but actually very secluded. miX lounge on the 64th floor features modern decor with Murano glass art hanging…if you can tear your eyes away from the fantastic view.
Receptions: Receptions can be set up independently at most of the Mandalay Bay restaurants including Aerole, Border Grill, House of Blues, 43 stories up in the exclusive and eclectic House of Blues Foundation Room or included as part of your ceremony package. For example pricing, 20 to 30 guests for a plated dinner at Rí Rá, two hours of open bar, a cake PLUS your ceremony, photography, flowers and a live musician would cost $7,750.00.
In suite receptions are also a possibility at Mandalay Bay, and many brides and grooms use the Vista and Media suites to host their small wedding ceremonies or post wedding cocktail parties or receptions of up to 50 people.
Tips:
- While the Suite Romance plan may make things easy for stressed out brides, it’s actually cheaper and perhaps more personal if you book a suite yourself, then set up the officiant and photographer on your own. You would also get to keep the suite for the night!
- Look for deals during the “slow” season from November to February. I’ve seen things like free heaters, aisle treatments and suite upgrades thrown in to entice you to get married during this time frame
- The Shark Reef wedding only takes place in the early morning at 9am before the aquarium opens and the maximum number of guests is 15, I believe
- There is a locals only banquet form with better pricing and discounts for those who reside in the Vegas area
