Desert weddings are among my favorite to share on Little Vegas Wedding and today’s from Key Lime Photography does not disappoint. Marianna and Travis were wed in an intimate outdoor ceremony just beyond the outer reaches of Las Vegas.
The couple have a rather unique romantic courtship story to share when they meet others…Marianna is a forensic pathologist and Travis a homicide detective and, well, work brought them together when they found themselves working a case together. It’s not everyday you can say you met the love of your life at an autopsy, but Marianna and Travis can!
For having such a great “how they met” story, it was appropriate they chose such a unique location for their destination wedding – the Red Spring boardwalk at Calico Basin at Red Rock Canyon. (Note: they do require special notice and permits, but Marianna said it was easy to do. However she also said there is about a 10 minute walk to the platform from the parking lot to where the ceremonies normally happen.) The couple decided Calico was the spot for them as it allowed outside photographers unlike many chapels, and was close to The Strip. The photos really are spectacular – great venue choice!
Rabbi Mel Hecht officiated and wove family traditions into their ceremony which was performed infront of a small group of friends and family. Afterwards the wedding party enjoyed some dancing and a meal at Firefly Tapas Kitchen (in an alternate space) plus slices of what has to be one of the most personal, fun and totally awesome wedding cakes I’ve ever seen, made by Cakes on the Move. What else could it be but a crime scene cake?

Perhaps you remember Richard and Michel’s masquerade themed wedding at Canyon Gate Country Club, photographed by Easton Studios? It was a stunning wedding with a rich tapestry of colors – deep purples, vibrant reds, with masks to keep with the theme as well a classic car and a doggie ring bearer.
Turns out their engagement session (also photographed by Nancy Easton) was just as full of personal details! For example, their love of baseball. And, just like their wedding, this shoot was full of beautiful desert colors! View the rest of these lovely photos of this cute couple…

This dreamy, inspired bridal shoot comes from GabyJ Photo. It features a gorgeous model against the natural splendor of Red Rock Canyon. The fuzzy little cholla cacti and the light add texture – it’s all so stunning! A succulent bouquet from I Do Wedding Flowers and … SWOON! I’m in love.

Today’s wedding was shot by the fab-u-lous “adventure” photographer McKenzi Taylor of Taylored Photo Memories. She was fortunate enough to be amongst the few witnesses to this very private yet very grand wedding at Red Rock Canyon.
The couple, from Salt Lake City, are big climbers, so it is apt that they got married at one of the premiere climbing locations in Nevada. The bride wore a gorgeous blue gown that matched the skies that day, and did her own hair and arranged her own bouquet. Simply gorgeous.
