Bohemian Wedding at Historic Fifth Street School from gaby j photography

Boho Vegas Wedding | Little Vegas Wedding

Opting for a bohemian, relaxed wedding with natural details, Morgan and Erick chose the perfect venue for their day: the Historic 5th Street School. Full of handmade touches (made by the bride and groom and purchased from Etsy artisans) this wedding featured earthy details and tones with a subtle desert vibe. Straight out of the pages of a magazine, florals were stunning as well, completing the lush natural feel at this eclectic downtown Vegas wedding full of personal details.

THE CEREMONY + RECEPTION — Historic 5th Street School

We went with a modern, natural look … minimal, indie-ish, boho. Our colors were mostly jewel-tones. We DIYed candles for our wedding favors! For my bouquet, my focal point was a protea, the rest was dahlias, eucalyptus, and some other random things. My bridesmaids had the same bouquets minus the protea. My flower crown was eucalyptus and peonies. Our ceremony altar backdrop and cake stand was built by my husband out of old pallets. We used a lot of different greens for our table runners and arches, like ferns and different types of eucalyptus. Our wedding stood out from the crowd because of our location — though we were in Vegas, it just didn’t feel like you were in the middle of a big city.

FAVORITE MEMORY

My favorite memory was our first look, it was very calming for me, and if we hadn’t done that, I think I would have lost it at the “altar.” Also, I loved our photobooth, so fun.

Artsy Vegas Marriage Bureau Wedding from Taylored Photo Memories

Downtown Vegas Elopement | Little Vegas Wedding

If I told you the bride in today’s feature loves purple, would you be surprised? Probably not, judging by the splash of the bright color throughout the post!

Heather and Jeff chose downtown Las Vegas — the office of civil marriages at the Clark County Clerk, in fact — for their elopement venue. Although the Vegas office is actually quite picturesque, this couple also toured artsy, eclectic and colorful Fremont Street to get some great pre- and post-wedding photos. Read on for more about this couple and why they went with downtown Vegas, from their photographer below!

More about this wedding from Taylored Photo Memories:

Heather and Jeff were all smiles and laughter, on cloud nine, and looking to have a fun and memorable time during our shoot. They were easygoing yet energetic and you could tell that they enjoyed eachother’s company, which definitely helps make for both genuine and beautiful photos.

Heather and Jeff met as teenagers when they were both working at Sea World in San Diego. They dated on and off for the next few years but in the end they went their separate ways, which included Jeff being sent off to multiple different locations over the years working for the Air Force. For a lot of people that is where the story ends, but thankfully for Heather and Jeff, with the help of tools like email and Facebook, they were able to reconnect after all of these years. Instead of a sad love lost ending they were lucky enough to find each other again and when they did they rekindled their friendship and fell in love. Pretty darn cute right?

Fast forward and I am the Las Vegas elopement photographer lucky enough to be present to capture their memories. Heather and Jeff wanted a small intimate ceremony so they opted to get married at the Marriage Bureau here in Las Vegas and had a reception to celebrate with their family and friends the weekend after. Their love for Fremont Street and its lights, vintage signs, and vitality prompted them to shoot their wedding photos downtown.

Funky Downtown Vegas Drive-Thru Wedding from Taylored Photo Memories

Drive Thru Vegas Wedding | Little Vegas Wedding

Britney and Jon decided Vegas was the perfect spot for a Halloween wedding — the anniversary of their first date! They didn’t go with an overt theme but spread the wedding fun throughout two days, including a drive-thru wedding in downtown Las Vegas and a bridal photo shoot at The Neon Museum.

This destination wedding was on the intimate side, but Britney and Jon were able to infuse many personal touches into the day, including a custom LEGO minifig cake topper, playing card stationery and super cool Millennium Falcon cufflinks. A touch of Halloween was included in the glam gold bat headband Britney wore. Keep reading for more about this unique Vegas wedding from their photographer!

More from McKenzi of Taylored Photo Memories, their photographer:

Britney and Jon wanted to embrace what a Vegas wedding had to offer and after getting to know them better during our two day photo shoot I would have to agree that it was the perfect choice for them. From the playing card themed invitations to the iconic pink convertible where they exchanged their vows and rings, this bride and groom focused on the details to pull off a fun and memorable event that revolved around them as a couple. I feel that too often a lot of couples can get overwhelmed with the amount of stress and work that goes into the grand production which is a traditional wedding.

If you are one of those couples who is fighting with your soon to be spouse over the budget or the guest list, my advice is to take a deep breath and always remember that your wedding day, traditional and elopements alike, is about the two of you. So take a page from Britney and Jon’s book and make your day about you, make it memorable and make it fun!

Retro Vegas Engagement from Janelle Addis Photography

DTLV + Neon Museum Engagement | Little Vegas Wedding

A few weeks ago I sneak peeked a photo from today’s post and you all went crazy for it, just as I did. The couple in today’s engagement session, Samantha and Nick, chose to include their dog, Gizmo, in their photos, and you loved him as much as I did.

Although these Vegas locals will be getting married in Hawai’i, here’s the full set of their engagement stroll through some of their favorite DTLV hot spots, including East Fremont and The Neon Museum. And yes, there is more of lil’ Gizmo, too. They went for an old school Vegas feel, with a classic hair and makeup look for Samantha and matching wardrobe. Don’t you just love engagements?

Sunrise Ceremony in Downtown Las Vegas from JamieY Photography

DTLV + Neon Museum | Little Vegas Wedding

Stacey and Al (from the U.K.) had a completely beautiful sunrise ceremony in DTLV. They chose to be married in front of the fantastic rainbow sculpture by Tm Bavington that is on the edge of Symphony Park at The Smith Center. They chose their ceremony time around their desire to get some bridal photos taken at The Neon Museum, which also turned out beautifully. And the best part of a morning ceremony? The entire day infront of you! Stacey and Al grabbed breakfast at a diner post-ceremony, before heading out on a helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon and a steak dinner later in the evening.

WHY LAS VEGAS?

We had actually already booked a holiday to America starting in Las Vegas and later on we decided to get married while we were there. We had been together more than 11 years so thought why not! We wanted something simple with minimum hassle, so this seemed the perfect answer. Luckily when we told our parents a few weeks before we left, they were all supportive and happy for us to go it alone! The Smith Centre sculpture was suggested by Jamie and when we Googled it we thought it was perfect; colourful and unique. Some friends of ours have since bought us a print as a wedding present with the coordinates of our wedding location so that’s pretty special.

THE CEREMONY — Symphony Park at The Smith Center

It was very simple and romantic too in its own way with just the two of us plus (photographer) Jamie and Kym (the officiant). We spent the hour or so before having some sunrise photos in downtown Las Vegas, then our driver took us to the ceremony location where we met Kym. When we arrived a worker was cutting the hedges but thankfully he stopped in time for us to hear the vows! Kym read our (non-religious) vows and Al gave me my ring, we were both a little emotional! Then we had more photos by the sculpture and went on to the Neon Boneyard to complete our photo shoot.

THE RECEPTION + HONEYMOON

We went for breakfast in a diner then had a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon, followed by a huge steak in the evening! The next day we left Las Vegas and spent two weeks on a road trip/honeymoon through Death Valley, Yosemite National Park, Santa Barbara, Big Sur and San Francisco – amazing!

FAVORITE MEMORY

The early morning was a challenge! Because we wanted to have some photos at the Neon Boneyard and it was only bookable in the morning, we decided to meet at sunrise to get some different shots in downtown before the ceremony and Boneyard. That meant hair and makeup arriving at 4am! But it was worth it. Special memories – all of it, we loved it!

LAS VEGAS WEDDING TIPS FROM STACEY AND AL

Can we say ‘book Jamie’! She made things so much easier in the planning and relaxed on the day (especially for two people who aren’t that keen on having photos taken!) Other than that, just do it however suits you, and enjoy every second as it’s over so quickly.
