Laura and Bobby say they are opposites — he’s the academic, she’s the street-wise one. For her interest in luxury, he tends to be more frugal. These opposites were what intrigued one another and drew them together after meeting on match.com.
And what drew them to Sin City for their elopement? That Vegas classic: spontaneity. Laura said she didn’t think Bobby wanted to get married, but over dinner one Valentine’s Day, Bobby casually mentioned he was going to be heading to Las Vegas for a chess tournament. He also asked if Laura would be interested in marrying while they were there, and so it was.
“We arrived in Las Vegas on Tuesday, got married on Wednesday and he played chess all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” says Laura.
They both wore blue to their ceremony in the chapel at Treasure Island, and they danced together in the tropical grounds surrounding the hotel before indulging in that perfectly white Las Vegas themed wedding cake and champagne. I truly believe there is a wedding style for everyone in Vegas, and Laura and Bobby’s elopement proves that.
