Lauren & Mitchell are Las Vegas locals who chose one of the most fun wedding ceremonies I think you can have in Las Vegas – the drive thru at A Little White Wedding Chapel! Brilliant Imagery was there to capture all the moments, including a very personal photo idea that the bride, had.
Since Lauren, the bride, is a surrealist artist she wanted to recreate a favorite work by René Magritte, a Belgian artist. He painted “The Lovers (I & II)” which depict a couple with burlap sacks over their heads. It’s thought provoking work, to be sure. A little fancy work with Rachel, their photographer, some sacks and voila! Magritte’s work was meant to challenge the viewer’s perceptions of reality, and I think both the painting and this photograph reworking do that! I love it when wedding photographs really show who the couple are as people, not just as a bride a groom.
A tour of downtown Vegas completed the day, with photos in unconventional places like the top of a parkade and a colorful graffiti wall. But then again, this couple is a little outside of the box. Love it!
