More from Andrea Eppolito about this wedding:

They say you can’t meet anyone in a nightclub…but what if you meet on the way out? Lightening can strike.

That’s exactly what happened when Eric and Amy ran into one another after a night out with friends. He was the self-professed Las Vegas bad-boy with a chip on his shoulder and a line for every situation. She was the Southern California stunner studying pre-law who wasn’t biting!

Eric would not take no for an answer, and after finally getting her phone number he proceeded to court her old school with phone calls that lasted long into the night, text messages, emails, and enough flowers to fill a florist! In fact, to this day, Eric has a standing order for roses and lilies, ensuring that Amy is never without something to make her feel special.

From our first meeting, it was obvious that this would be a team effort. Amy had a very strong vision of what she wanted in terms of colors and design. Her heart was set on getting married on the water, which reminded her of her native San Diego. With a color palette of steel gray and pale pinks and a request to accent the space with roses, petals, and crystals for a soft and romantic feel.

While Eric was happy to give her what she wanted, he also wanted to ensure that he wasn’t lost in the process. He didn’t want to feel like he was living in a pale pink wonderful complete with cotton candy and sugared flowers. After making an off-the-cuff comment that the best parties he ever went to were the ones that ended with Golden Tee video games, we decided to build an outdoor arcade complete with multiple machines, candy stations, and fire pits with s’mores set ups. A nod to both Eric’s college days and Amy’s time on the boardwalks of San Diego, the balcony was intended to give Eric and the boys a place to retreat from all things pink, and ended up being the hit of the night where guests gathered for story telling, cocktails, and more than a few laughs.

As a surprise for her groom, a man who wooed her with super-human efforts, Amy arranged for the photo booth to have LED light up super hero masks, and for a Groom’s Cake that featured all of the naughty Vegas activities that Eric once loved.
