Out in the desert, outside the Sin City limits is a magical place. A place where the joshua trees run wild, sunsets are vivid and the shadows are long. A place where romance happens. That’s where today’s styled engagement shoot and inspiration comes from – a little place in the desert outside Las Vegas in Red Rock, where Gaby J Photography captured this beautiful session.
Gaby used the landscape itself to inspire the shoot – aiming for an airy, natural and bohemian feeling. Accented by the surrounding natural landscape, the styling is simple and reflects natural tones and a rustic feel, adding to the romance. Here, the couple are the stars!
Assorted blooms by I Do Wedding Flowers in mixed vases and boxes add pops of color to the tablescape and to the nearly naked Retro Bakery cake. Being a desert wedding, you cannot miss a chance to incorporate succulents and other desert plants, either. I love the tiny potted cacti! Dreamcatchers hanging and other vintage props add to the photographs.
The young bride wears a vintage gown, knee high boots and hair crowns (courtesy Staysi Lee Bridal Boutique and Honey Pie Headbands), almost taking us back to the 60s or 70s. Cow skull accented stationery by Paper & Home in washed out turquoise tones reflect the scenery. It’s completely simple, stylish and a little bit different.
I do love the idea of a private picnic engagement shoot, I must say. The romance and solitude is completely my style!
