Melissa and Chris from Australia got married in Las Vegas on their anniversary of being together a decade! They elected to have a smaller, funkier wedding with lots of personal touches in Las Vegas with their closest friends and family members joining them for a day of festivities and Olga from Dott Photography capturing all of the moments.

Chris loves Elvis, and Melissa is enamored with all things vintage and glam, so things came together naturally in terms of hair, makeup and fashion. Of course Elvis (Kent Ripley) officiated the vows, which took place at the original Las Vegas chapel: Wee Kirk O’ the Heather. After a portrait session at the Neon Museum Boneyard, the couple joined their wedding party for a a reception dinner at Sensi at the Bellagio.

Melissa is an illustrator and designer (check out her portfolio), so naturally her hand was in many details of the wedding, as you’ll see.

The invitations are gorgeous, and feature watercolor portraits of her little family – Chris, her cats and herself. They mixed Melissa’s artwork and design sense with beautiful details like a library-style response card, dainty paperclips and heart pennant, a laser cut wooden diamond magnet, an information card for travel plans with a vintage pin-up girl on the front, as well as gorgeous script and typography.

Melissa also handcrafted these tiny llamas for the wedding, as she happened to be working on a project creating ceramic animals at the time. It was a symbolic nod to an inside joke that is a acknowledges the way Melissa and Chris say I love you to one another. Each guest at the wedding got to take a pair home.
