Aria – The Wedding Chapel

Aria – The Wedding Chapel

Aria’s chapel opened in the spring of 2013 to much fanfare over its luxe decor and exclusivity. That is to say, there is just a single chapel and they only hold one wedding at a time. The 2,750 square foot chapel on the first floor of the convention center holds up to 60 guests. With an understated, modern design the color theme is chocolate and cream alongside rich purple draping and touches of metallic detailing throughout. There are good views from all of the seats in the chapel as it’s a sort of curved shape. Like many Vegas Strip hotel chapels, it is located in the convention center, however the trip to the chapel itself is quite nice – a rarity in many Strip hotels! It’s quite an impressive escalator ride down to the huge mahogany doors to the chapel itself, with a lot of greenery and glass.

One of the nicest perks of Aria’s chapel are the vanity areas for the bride and groom. Both offer extended space, with the groom’s side boasting a pool table and wet bar. Both of the spaces join the chapel, so there will be no hiding in hallways in case you do not want to see your partner ahead of the ceremony – again, something that commonly occurs in many hotel chapels.

Reception Options: Dinner at one of the 17 on-site restaurants, or reception add-ons to ceremony packages including a two-hour open bar cocktail reception with tray passed appetizers plus wedding cake at Deuce Lounge ($5000 for up to 29 guests, $9500 for up to 59 guests), Social House or in a suite.

$1600-15500, Insuite from $2800

Bellagio – South and East Wedding Chapels

Bellagio – South and East Wedding Chapels

Both of the chapels in Bellagio feature neutral tones of champagne, taupe, cream and brown. The details are quite pretty and intricate, including architectural sconces, hand-blown glass chandeliers crafted, lush drapes, and amethyst glass windows traced with gold leaf and Italian stained glass. There is traditional pew seating.

The south chapel holds 130 guests and the east just 30. No matter which chapel you choose, they only host one wedding at a time and they do not allow visitors during ceremonies.

Reception Options:  Reception packages are priced from $125+ per person for different combinations, including plated meals, buffets, hand passed canapés, action stations, and toasts. Luncheon receptions are an option, beginning at $82 per person. Hosted bars start at $25 per person per hour.

Circus Circus – Chapel of the Fountain

Circus Circus – Chapel of the Fountain

Circus Circus’s recently refreshed chapel (named Chapel of the Fountain) is the longest running hotel chapel in town and has no clowns, carousels or circus memorabilia to speak of. In fact the space is quite understated and, dare I say it: classy. With simple ceremonies starting at $200, their great prices will stay within your budget. This unexpected gem may be the very place you have been looking for. Vow renewals and commitment ceremonies also available.

Receptions Options: In-house catering available for up to 600 people starting at $48 for dinner with an array of add-ons. Luncheon receptions also available.

Excalibur – The Wedding Chapel

Excalibur – The Wedding Chapel

Over the years, Excalibur has softened the medieval theme, and the chapel is not as Renaissance fair’d out as you might think, m’lady. However, for those who do enjoy the middle ages, the wedding chapel works with a custom costume company and has a wide range of renaissance period themed outfits for men and women available for rent. Mixed reviews online about how they look, but with other costume rental companies in town, you have choices.

There are two chapel sizes available, and both feature stained glass, trimmed topiaries (faux) and single chair style seating instead of pews. The larger of the chapels features a very nice vaulted cathedral style ceiling. Floral supplied by Foxtail Floral

Reception Options: In addition to ceremonies, the coordinators will also help you set up a reception on site through hotel catering, from $45 a person and up. There is a Bucca di Beppo just down the hall from the chapel as well, with great group rates.

Cost:
$199-1575+

The larger Platinum chapel has a capacity of 100 guests, and weddings under 50 guests take place in the Silver and Gold chapels. The foyer of the chapel (which is quite pretty, actually) is available for more intimate weddings for $2500. DIY in-suite receptions for up to 40 people are also possible in addition to “official” ones through the hotel. Receptions can be set up independently at most of the Mandalay Bay restaurants including Aureole, Border Grill, House of Blues, the eclectic House of Blues Foundation Room or included as part of your ceremony package. For example pricing, 20 to 30 guests for a plated dinner at Rí Rá, two hours of open bar, a cake plus your ceremony, photography, flowers and a live musician would cost about $7800.
