Pretty in Purple at Silverton’s Veil Pavilion | Taylored Photo Memories

Veil Pavilion at Silverton | Little Vegas Wedding

Amanda and Kevin infused their wedding day with casual country style in a royal purple palette. After getting ready, the bridal party moved over for the ceremony at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church.

The reception was held in the rustic Silverton Hotel and Casino, which has a special wedding and events pavilion called Veil. The room was decorated with burlap, Mason jars and an incredible “wood” barrel cake. Perfect venue choice for this romantic wedding.

More from the photography, Taylored Photo Memories:

Amanda and Kevin chose the Veil Pavilion at the Silverton Hotel & Casino because to them it was the perfect fit. Desiring a rustic/country reception which reflected their down to earth personalities and was warm and welcoming for all of their guests, they were initially charmed by the antler chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. After visiting various other venues during their research, they also discovered that the Veil Pavilion had the largest dance floor among the contenders. For a couple who love to dance, this was an important element in creating the inclusive celebratory atmosphere that they were looking to achieve at their reception.

Modern Pinwheel Wedding Inspiration from Brilliant Imagery

Pinwheel Wedding Inspiration | Little Vegas Wedding

Pinwheels were the playful inspiration behind this teal, silver and purple styled shoot from Brilliant Imagery. What a perfect choice and color palette for the amazingly modern World Market Center Las Vegas! Who would have guessed the somewhat simple pinwheel (something I think we all relate with children) would make such a whimsical wedding theme? Not me! Perfect if you are planning an eco-friendly wedding, or are looking for alternatives to flowers.

Genius touches like pinwheel danish for a dessert bar (beside a pinwheel fondant wedding cake, naturally), the bouquet, boutonniere and those modern invitations all incorporate this beautiful shape. I can’t get enough of this theme!

Vibrant wedding at Tropicana’s Havana Room from gaby j photography

Havana Room at Tropicana | Little Vegas Wedding

Shai and Kali both live and work in Las Vegas, and elected not only to have a very Vegas wedding … they had four days of Vegas wedding! After all, if you’re inviting friends and family from all over the world, best to be a good host, right? Their wedding itself took place in Tropicana’s chic Havana Room, which was a nightclub at one time but is now just for private events. Not surprisingly their wedding was full of music, very appropriate for the venue. Love all the moments and personal stories Kali shared from her wedding in this post.

WHY LAS VEGAS?

We picked our date solely because it was on a three-day weekend, so people could stay longer and enjoy time in this fantastic city. We had a dinner and table service for about 40 people on Thursday; a rehearsal dinner and hotel suite party on Friday; a fantastic wedding Saturday; and a private room with a bar and brunch for football Sunday.

Anytime someone asked me where we were getting married, I would say Las Vegas followed immediately by, “…but not like a Vegas wedding, we’re not getting married by Elvis!” In our own way, though, it was a very Vegas wedding. After all, we rented a venue on the Strip that used to be a nightclub! The Havana Room at the Tropicana is now used for private events and the moment we stepped into it and saw the incredible chandelier at the center we were sold. My husband, Shai, was born in Jerusalem and so while I am not Jewish, having a Jewish wedding was a no brainer for us.

THE CEREMONY — The Havana Room at Tropicana

While the venue was modern and glamorous, we had many personal and DIY touches, starting with my dress. I had three dresses for the evening, my ceremony gown, my mid-reception dress and my post-reception dress. We wanted to do a first look but I didn’t want Shai to see me in “my” dress before the ceremony so I wore my mid-reception dress … which just happens to have been my grandmother’s wedding dress from 63 years ago. My grandparents were too frail to travel to Vegas for the wedding so I had her dress altered ever so slightly (only change was to fit my bust) and it came out more incredibly than I could have ever imagined. All of our grandparents were/have been married for over 50 years and so they have been such strong examples of love and marriage for us.

Our ceremony was a sweet 20 minute Jewish ceremony. The ceremony was probably my favorite because it was so us. I loved looking around at all of our guests!

THE RECEPTION — The Havana Room at Tropicana

For our first dance, we had a choreographed routine to “I Choose You” by Sara Bareilles. While it was always my husband who messed up when we practiced, it was me who almost messed up at the wedding and he saved us. There is one picture of us dancing when I am laughing that was from this moment. Everyone kept coming up to us saying how much they loved it. For the father-daughter dance we started with “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath; a song I grew up singing with my father, before fading into “Daughters” by John Mayer.

I had a garter with a mini flask on it so Shai took off the garter and took the shot! Then, as we are both in the Air Force, my groom and all of his groomsmen serenaded me with “Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” straight out of Top Gun.

With family flown in from Israel we did some Israeli fold dances as well as the hora, when they lift us up in chairs — that was such a blast! The rest of the night was spent dancing nonstop. We put the lighting and sound systems to good use.

DIY DETAILS + DECOR

All of the signs were chalkboards that I wrote and some that I even painted. I also handpainted all of the candle holders throughout the venue (over 50) as well as painting all of the bottle and putting together all of the centerpieces. I also made all of the bouquets and boutonnieres. We had custom kippot (yalmukes) with our names and wedding date for the guests to wear if they wanted and to keep. I didn’t want a white aisle so instead I had a purple one with gold and purple petals, leading up to our beautiful chuppah dripping in crystals to flow with the chandeliers throughout the venue. In addition to wearing my grandmothers dress we had pictures of all of our grandparents framed on our card table. It was our way of having them with us.

FAVORITE MEMORY

My husband had a videographer for our engagement and so before the ceremony started, the projection screen came down and played our video. It was kind of like bringing everything full circle. When everyone else was out, my dad and I had a moment just to ourselves that was really special. I had him take a selfie so we could remember it. I think it really helped calm him. When we finally started walking the aisle (to “Hold On” by Michael Buble) I may have been the only one not crying! I was just so excited I could not stop smiling!

LAS VEGAS WEDDING TIPS FROM SHAI AND KALI

Our advice for couples looking for a wedding in Vegas would be to really take the time to look at all the venues. There is probably no where else in the country where you can find so many venues in such a concentrated area that range in every possible aspect. I had a binder of all the places I inquired with. From there we picked our top seven venues to visit, then we picked the one that fit us the best.

Artsy Vegas Marriage Bureau Wedding from Taylored Photo Memories

Downtown Vegas Elopement | Little Vegas Wedding

If I told you the bride in today’s feature loves purple, would you be surprised? Probably not, judging by the splash of the bright color throughout the post!

Heather and Jeff chose downtown Las Vegas — the office of civil marriages at the Clark County Clerk, in fact — for their elopement venue. Although the Vegas office is actually quite picturesque, this couple also toured artsy, eclectic and colorful Fremont Street to get some great pre- and post-wedding photos. Read on for more about this couple and why they went with downtown Vegas, from their photographer below!

More about this wedding from Taylored Photo Memories:

Heather and Jeff were all smiles and laughter, on cloud nine, and looking to have a fun and memorable time during our shoot. They were easygoing yet energetic and you could tell that they enjoyed eachother’s company, which definitely helps make for both genuine and beautiful photos.

Heather and Jeff met as teenagers when they were both working at Sea World in San Diego. They dated on and off for the next few years but in the end they went their separate ways, which included Jeff being sent off to multiple different locations over the years working for the Air Force. For a lot of people that is where the story ends, but thankfully for Heather and Jeff, with the help of tools like email and Facebook, they were able to reconnect after all of these years. Instead of a sad love lost ending they were lucky enough to find each other again and when they did they rekindled their friendship and fell in love. Pretty darn cute right?

Fast forward and I am the Las Vegas elopement photographer lucky enough to be present to capture their memories. Heather and Jeff wanted a small intimate ceremony so they opted to get married at the Marriage Bureau here in Las Vegas and had a reception to celebrate with their family and friends the weekend after. Their love for Fremont Street and its lights, vintage signs, and vitality prompted them to shoot their wedding photos downtown.

Classic Canyon Gate Country Club Wedding from Sun and Sparrow Photographers

Canyon Gate Wedding | Little Vegas Wedding

Josh and Stephanie chose the perfect venue for their modern, yet traditional wedding: Canyon Gate Country Club! The sweeping views and gorgeous ground were the perfect complement to their purple-hued wedding day, a one-stop destination venue for them and their guests. Romantic candles and roses, purple uplighting and a beautiful view from the ballroom completed this gorgeous day. I love that the couple chose to have breakfast together the morning of the wedding, too. A lovely moment of calm in what was sure to be a busy day!

If you want to learn more about this venue, be sure to read the Ultimate LVW Venue Guide post, including posts of more real weddings there!

WHY LAS VEGAS?

We have family all over the US, we knew that there would be a lot of people flying in and we felt it would be cool to have them fly into someplace cool, instead of Los Angeles or Orange County. We looked at many different venues, we knew we didn’t want anything on the strip or in a hotel partly due to the cost and partly because we really wanted something mellow and romantic. Kristen and Canyon Gate really gave a great impression during our initial meeting, after going there we both knew that it was going to be our venue.

Both Josh and I are business owners, we knew we wouldn’t have endless hours to plan, so the fact that Canyon Gate handled the menu and had easy to navigate bar packages and vendor references was really helpful.

THE CEREMONY — Patio, Canyon Gate Country Club

We kept the ceremony short and sweet — it began at 5:30 ended just before sunset. We then had an hour long cocktail hour before our reception. Canyon Gate let us pick the location out of two available gazebos, as well as the colors we wanted the seats and overhang to be. We tried to save on flowers so the only ceremony decor we had that Canyon Gate did not supply was the flower petals on the ground and the lanterns placed at the end of the aisles.

THE RECEPTION — Ballroom, Canyon Gate Country Club

The reception was important to us, we are very close to our family and wanted them to have a great time! We paid for an open bar and went with the buffet style dinner so guests wouldn’t be restricted to their tables and could walk around and socialize. Josh and I also went with a sweet heart table so we wouldn’t separate any of our bridal party from their spouses and so we could have a little bit of alone time. Canyon Gate gave us choices of table linen, seat covers, plates and silverware. Up lighting was from VOX DJ’s.

DIY DETAILS + DECOR

My mother and sister deserve all of the credit for the majority of the decorations. I am lucky to have them! The centerpieces, table numbers, sweetheart table details and the favors was all them. Candles were the recurring theme I went for.

FAVORITE MEMORY

My favorite moment of the day was having breakfast with Josh the morning before, it was nice to have a quiet moment with him before all the crazy started. Our first look was also lots of fun! The most challenging was wrangling the family and wedding party for photos!

LAS VEGAS WEDDING TIPS FROM JOSH + STEPHANIE

Enjoy it! How many other wedding venues also happen to be the fun capitol of the world? Josh and I made sure to make a weekend out of it when we went on the venue search and the tasting, we also stayed for a week as our honeymoon.

The total guest count ended up being about 92, the grand total including vendors and some of our wedding party accommodations was about $22,000.
