It’s been a while since I went window shopping on ModCloth’s site, so I was super thrilled to wander over there today and find some fantastic new little white dresses that I thought would be perfect for a Vegas wedding.
These retro-inspired budget (don’t you dare say cheap!) wedding dresses would be perfect for a chic little elopement or a rehearsal dinner, meet and greet party or for an in-suite cake cutting. They’re all under $300, with most falling under the $100 price point. If you are looking for a vintage-style second dress or just a budget wedding ceremony gown, these are some great options for a Vegas wedding!
This 1960s inspired lace-backed dress, Par Fate, reminds me of actress Mia Farrow (who was also a Vegas bride herself!)
This dress is quite casual, with an elegant and simple skirt but A Way With Awards features some seriously fashion-forward pearl and jewel encrusted shoulder epaulets.
A flattering cross-front and oversized bow on the back keeps Give Me Amour cute and fun, with a retro feel.
Alight of Heart is airy and flowy, perfect for a Vegas garden wedding. Also available in plus sizes.
I’ve featured a shorter version of Aisle Be There before — I’m obsessed with the vintage style beaded bodice! Love it even more in a maxi-length.
Adding a brightly colored petticoat to With Only A Wink would elevate the 1950s tea-length skirt…this would be perfect for a Neon Museum wedding!
Another goddess-style gown, the floaty, jewel-belted Never Spin Better is a lot lighter than other long dresses, and would look gorgeous at a sunset wedding at poolside.
Didn’t find a design you like? Don’t worry. ModCloth has all sorts of bridal looks in their new wedding lookbook, including affordable accessories, shoes and more!

On Friday I posted Casey and Mo’s amazing Flamingo wedding packed full of surprises, including Star Wars Stormtroopers, Elvis and showgirls at the reception to a same day vow renewal. Casey and Mo travelled all the way from Australia for their wedding, so it’s no surprise they crammed in so many amazing events into their Las Vegas visit!
Well, it may be no surprise that Casey and Mo got all dressed up again and managed a day after wedding shoot! They met up with photographer Julie Bergonz for a vibrant downtown encore wedding shoot, even making it out to the desert at Red Rock Canyon for some shots. The photos are total rock ‘n’ roll and a great addition to their wedding day portraits! (Do you think the Stormtrooper helmet was a wedding gift from Darth Vader?)
Trash the dress wedding photos are still common, but day after wedding shoots are becoming more popular, as many of you would like to save or resell your wedding gown. Some of you know I also write for another wedding website, and I just published an article on reasons to consider day after wedding photography over there today.
These sessions are a great option for couples to stretch out that wedding magic one more day and maybe visit some locations they weren’t able to get to on their wedding day, especially in Las Vegas where realistically getting desert shots, downtown shots and Strip shots in a short period of time just isn’t doable.
Mo, the beautiful bride, had this to say about their encore wedding photo session:
I was lucky enough to stumble across Julie Bergonz Photography on Craigslist of all places, and she truly is an amazing photographer. I initially hired her to do my boudoir shoot in September and fell in love with her style and just had to work with her again. I followed her work on Facebook and saw some great shoots out at the Arts District and I’ve always liked the Red Rock area for “rock the dress” shots.
The day after our wedding I had Leila and Marissa return to do my hair and makeup then we hired a chauffeured SUV through for three hours, perfectly timed to get to the Arts District and catch the sunset at Red Rock Canyon. The photos speak for themselves and are a true testament to Julie’s eye for detail and colour/light composition.

Although this styled fashion shoot is just a little bit bridal (love that amazing black tulle wedding dress!) I just had to share it because I can never say no to retro fashion or a shoot at Nelson’s Landing ghost town at Eldorado Canyon! I know some of you dig that 1950s style as much as I do.
Davista Photography styled this bridal pinup session there, complete with cupcakes, birdcage veil and some gorgeous gowns. It’s a fun and fashion-y idea for a themed trash the dress or rock the frock shoot. Or maybe as is common in the south: bridal portraits ahead of the wedding. Either way, a great setting for some retro fun!

Sometimes the reason for a wedding photo do-over are very sensitive indeed. Katie and Danny are the sweet couple in this styled wedding shoot. They were married in 2012 during which time Katie was pregnant. Unfortunately, the couple lost their baby soon after the wedding, so it’s a little hard to look back on the photos of their marriage. Looking to create some happier photographs, Katie contacted photographer Rachel Garcia of Brilliant Imagery to help her have a wedding photo do-over.
Rachel got really wrapped up in the concept behind the styled shoot for the couple which emulated the vintage glamour of the 1920s. The couple looked amazing in period style outfits; Katie got a flapper style makeover, complete with finger and Marcel waves.

Welcome to Throwback Thursday, when we delve into the archives of Las Vegas photographers, wedding vendors and wedding planner blogs to reveal weddings you may have missed.
I’ve already fished around for Weddings with Vintage Style in Vegas, but what about Vintage Vegas weddings? Retro era themes that celebrate old school Sin City. You know, a throwback to the old swingin’ style of the Strip in Rat Pack heydays, that old classic Vegas vibe…
