26 Wedding Cakes Masquerading as Hotels in Las Vegas
Here’s a hazard as a wedding blogger. You look at many, MANY wedding cakes every day. But how many is too many?
Pinterest, Flickr, on other wedding blogs, cake blogs, in cake studio windows…they all feed the addiction. And if you’re a Vegas hotel obsessed blogger this just sort of blends together after a while, and sometimes, well, the cakes start to look like Vegas hotels. Or is it the other way around?
So join me on a journey as we re-imagine some famous Las Vegas hotels, casinos and landmarks as wedding cakes in this fun post. While all but one of these cakes were not expressly designed to reflect the hotel, I couldn’t help but notice a passing resemblance in many of these cases.
Some of the comparisons are offbeat and a little abstract. Some are right on the nose. All are inspired by the architecture, colors and themes of various Las Vegas hotels and landmarks.
1. Golden Nugget

Cake by Sugar Couture | Golden Nugget Wedding
Inspiration drawn by the prismatic wall that lines the exterior of the Golden Nugget
2. Mix Restaurant at Mandalay bay

Cake by Sweets by Natalie Kay | Mix at Mandalay Bay
The glass bubbles also remind me of Twist at Mandarin Oriental, too. It’s that glass bubble connection.
3. O’Sheas

Cake by Peridot Sweets (Las Vegas) | Holly Madison at O’Sheas
RIP O’Sheas. You are missed.
4. LOVE by Cirque du Soleil at Mirage
Obviously.
5. Tournament of Kings at Excalibur

Cake by Pastry Palace (Las Vegas): | Tournament of Kings at Excalibur
That cake is probably too regal to be associated with Excalibur, to be honest
6. Fab Rooms at Flamingo

Cake by Jen’s Cakery | FAB Room at Flamingo
I actually have a hard time believing this ISN’T the cake directly inspired by something in Vegas. But that’s actually the next cake…
7. Stardust

Cake by Retro Bakery (Las Vegas) | Stardust sign
Kari of Retro Bakery in Las Vegas was inspired by the old school Stardust (RIP) sign for this cake
8. Linq at The Quad

Cake by Charm City Cakes | Linq Vortex at Quad
At first I thought this most reminded me of Cosmopolitan (the purple, maybe?) but then Vegas Tripping reminded me of the Linq Vortex at the renovated Quad. Nice Qake, huh?
9. Poker Room at Aria

Cake by Mark Joseph Cakes | ARIA Poker Room
10. Mandalay Bay Beach

Sugar art on cake by Andiespecialtycakes | Mandalay Bay Beach
11. Dale Chihuly Glass Installation at Bellagio
That cake is sugar art, directly inspired by Chihuly’s work. Amazing, right?
12. Caesars Palace

Cake by Erica O’Brien Cakes | Caesars Palace
13. Chandelier Bar at Cosmopolitan

Cake by Unknown | Chandlier Bar at Cosmopolitan
14. Circus Circus

Cake by Sugared Saffron | Circus Circus
Oddly, there is a lack of wedding cakes with a creepy clown theme.
15. The Shops at Crystals

Cake by CHOCCYWOCCYDOODAH Chocolaterie | The Shops at Crystals
To me, the cake is not even the most ridiculous thing here (although it IS impressive) it’s the name of the chocolate boutique that makes it: CHOCCYWOCCYDOODAH. I’ll bet they Google really well. They also do an amazing mermaid cake I almost included as an homage to Silverton Lodge and Casino.
16. Encore Lobby Bar and Cafe

Cake by Unknown | Encore Lobby Bar + Cafe
I think I saw every damned red and gold cake on the planet trying to match this bar
17. Veer Towers

Cake by Heny Sison | Veer Towers
Alright, I admit it. I’m stretching it with this one. I just really like that cake!
18. Mandalay Bay

Cake by Hey There Cupcake! | Windows at Mandalay Bay
I would have used this for Tropicana if they had kept their gold windows.
19. Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health
So the sugar “curl” on top is actually supposed to resemble an ocean wave, but all I saw was the twisted exterior of the Lou Ruvo Center when I saw it.
20. Luxor

Cake by Talita’s Kitchen | Luxor Pyramid
This is the cake I am most likely to inhale on this list, by the way. It’s white chocolate + chai with a caramel center, topped with gold leaf. All in an adorable single serving size. Maybe not so adorable when you’ve eaten three, though
Could also double as a cake stand in for the Clark County Government Center pyramid
21. NY NY Las Vegas
22. Suite at Bellagio

Cake by Intricate Icings Cake Design | Bellagio Suite
23. Vdara

Cake by Unknown | Bold Chevron Wall at Vdara
24. Venetian and Palazzo

Cake by Crazy Cake | Carnavale at Venetian and Palazzo
Good for Rio, maybe, too?
25. Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas
I really really wanted to replicate the gold bullion wall in the lobby of the Mandarin for this one, but no body made a cake nice enough to show off, so fans it was. The runner up is below
26. Chateau at Paris Las Vegas
Cause nothing says “classy French baroque design” like one of the busiest clubs on the Strip and the shenanigans that happen in there

If you’re looking for that extra cute layer of Vegas fun for your wedding, maybe matching your cake to your venue is just the ticket! But at the very least, you got to check out some gorgeous eye candy. Or eye cake, as it were. :)
If you didn’t have a cake craving at the start of this post, you probably do now. I’m off to get a slice!
