This 1960s inspired lace-backed dress, Par Fate, reminds me of actress Mia Farrow (who was also a Vegas bride herself!)

6 Vegas Restaurants Perfect for Wedding Receptions up to 100 People

One of my favorite things about the week of my destination Vegas wedding was that my husband and I could take all of our favorite, closest loved family and friends to our favorite area restaurants. Over the course of six nights, we took groups of 6 to 40 people to some of our favorite pubs, Thai restaurants, izakayas and various other restaurants  to enjoy our favorite libations and meals.

Events included thank you dinners for our wedding party, a rehearsal dinner, a meet and greet mixer with welcome drinks for all attendees. Of course there was also the reception and post wedding buffet. It was too much fun! Spreading events out over several restaurants took the pressure off of the one that would serve as our reception venue, I felt, as well. I run a food blog and my husband used to be a food critic, so people had high expectations!

Here are a few suggestions for restaurants you might like to consider for your wedding reception between 10 and 100 people. They would also make great locations for rehearsal dinners, meet and greets and casual post-wedding group dinners. All are located along the Strip, and many are personal favorites. (PS: If you are looking for even MORE options, try this mega list of restaurants all over Las Vegas perfect for wedding receptions)

With so many options on and off the Las Vegas Strip, there are bound to be favorite we missed. Chime in with your suggestions in the comments!

This American bistro is an off-Strip staple, serving upscale American classics with a splash of the Mediterranean. While the Summerlin location will host private events, the restaurant also started holding events at Vintner Grill Strip, a space inside Neiman Marcus at Fashion Show Mall. The space is only available for special events. A buyout can hold up to 110 people (seated), but reviewers online have the opinion that it is best for groups up to 100, and that it can get a bit tight with more.

The stunning room with modern furnishings affords a beautiful view of Wynn and Encore, Palazzo and the northern part of Las Vegas Boulevard through over-sized picture windows. The view is the decor here! There are a variety of spaces within that can be combined to the size of the party, including two dining rooms, a red accented lounge and a foyer.

Burger Bar

#121A, 3930 South Las Vegas Blvd (inside Shoppes at Mandalay Bay)
Las Vegas, NV

burger bar wedding vegas

This relaxed restaurant is on the shopping walkway between Mandalay Bay and Luxor, and serves a variety of burgers and some great beers. It’s definitely more casual, but I’ve seen more than one wedding held there.

The room itself is long and skinny and can be a tight fit, as well as a bit dark. Wood accents and booths give it a cozy, casual pub feel. The entire capacity is for 140 people. be be aware this includes 24 seats at the bar and people seated in booths. There are no reservations needed for groups up to 20, which makes it great for impromptu meet and greets or group dinners.

Food and drink: There are standard burgers with a variety of different toppings, perfect for a very diverse crowd. There are several kinds of sauces and mayonnaises, pricey items like lobster and truffles and your standard “dragged through the garden” lettuce, pickles and tomatoes additions. Sides include different fry styles, deep fried cheese and zucchini and onion rings. “Adult” milkshakes can be custom made, and there is a truly incredible spread of brews on taps available for the beer fans.

Entertainment: If you rent out the entire restaurant, you may have the ability to utilize the video screens in the bar.

Seating and rooms: One large room that has a bistro feel. Typically guests are seated at one long table down the middle, depending on party size. It can be a bit dark and noisy in there, so maybe not the best place for photos or speeches.

border grill wedding vegas

Border Grill is a fiesta’n’fun-filled restaurant with a tropical feel, including a variety of different indoor and outdoor spaces. I must be honest – I am partial to this restaurant because I used it for my own wedding. The food ranges from good to great, and what was important to us was the booze package. My parents, especially my dad, enjoys their premium margaritas on his visits to Vegas and so we really wanted to incorporate those. The restaurant can accomodate 34 to 500 people and has spaces for outdoor mingling and dancing if you like.

Things we did not have to worry about were decor and music – we just used their piped in music, I incorporated their bright colors into my wedding invitations. We mixed indoor and outdoor spaces (nice in mid May) by having passed appetizers outdoors before the reception and the ice cream bar outside after the meal.

Food and drink: Reliable Mexican classics, with a lot of ability to customize on things, like having a live action guacamole, taco or ice cream sundae bar. Most packages include appetizer and a choice of two mains for the guest. They were also able to accomodate guests who were vegan, which was important. Bar packages are excellent, with premium liquors available. We were able to offer our guests premium margaritas, sangria, lots of kinds of beer and cocktails. I recommend creating a bar menu so that guests know all of the different options they can get!

Entertainment: Several rooms feature areas for dancing, and speakers and microphones may be rented from the restaurant.

Seating and rooms: There are two levels to the restaurant, with indoor spaces with huge windows overlooking the spectacular Mandalay Bay pool. They will set up fans and umbrellas to keep the heat down in the summer months in outdoor spaces. Photos and room layouts available here.

Hot tips for planning a Vegas Strip restaurant reception:

  • Want MORE options? Try this mega list of restaurants all over Las Vegas perfect for wedding receptions
  • Looking to keep costs down? Consider an afternoon luncheon or a weekday reception instead. Costs go up as the sun goes down, and Thursday through Sunday are typically more expensive due to demand in Las Vegas.
  • Another option for keeping costs low is to host a limited bar package at the restaurant, and continue the party elsewhere, like in a suite or at a cocktail lounge downtown.
  • Think about location on the Strip. Asking people to walk even one hotel length can be arduous in wedding gear and dressy shoes.
  • Consider using the restaurant’s decor or view instead of decorating. Many of the restaurants have amazing views that will more than make up for a lack of centrepieces or fancy uplighting.
  • If you are dead set on having an outdoor area, ask the restaurant how they cope with the heat in the summer, be it using fans or misters. May through September can be very hot in Vegas, especially for those not from the area.

New Suites at MGM Grand Perfect for Weddings

I know due to their price point and ease of getting guests up to the room MGM Grand was a popular place for hosting small afterparties, rehearsal meet and greet parties and even receptions in their suites. I looked at them myself for my wedding afterparty, but decided not to go with them because people complained about the rooms looking a little run down. Some had amazing outdoor hot tubs, patios and views, but I did not want chipped furniture, broken doors or dripping faucets.

However some good news, as MGM Grand overhauls their behemoth property. They are redoing their suites and bringing in four new kinds. I just looked at the photos of their new rooms online and they are pretty beautiful, and the prices are still very affordable.

1500 sq ft prices starting at $565 the Skyline Marquee Suite (above) is one of my favourites. It’s a two bedroom and features a billiards table. There is the very similar Skyline Terrace Suite – but it features a nearly 800 sq ft patio overlooking the Strip. Decision decisions…

Prices, photos, floor plans and more available at MGM Grand’s site. Thanks to Five Hundy by Midnight Las Vegas podcast for talking about these new suites.
