Pretty in Purple at Silverton’s Veil Pavilion | Taylored Photo Memories

Veil Pavilion at Silverton | Little Vegas Wedding

Amanda and Kevin infused their wedding day with casual country style in a royal purple palette. After getting ready, the bridal party moved over for the ceremony at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church.

The reception was held in the rustic Silverton Hotel and Casino, which has a special wedding and events pavilion called Veil. The room was decorated with burlap, Mason jars and an incredible “wood” barrel cake. Perfect venue choice for this romantic wedding.

More from the photography, Taylored Photo Memories:

Amanda and Kevin chose the Veil Pavilion at the Silverton Hotel & Casino because to them it was the perfect fit. Desiring a rustic/country reception which reflected their down to earth personalities and was warm and welcoming for all of their guests, they were initially charmed by the antler chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. After visiting various other venues during their research, they also discovered that the Veil Pavilion had the largest dance floor among the contenders. For a couple who love to dance, this was an important element in creating the inclusive celebratory atmosphere that they were looking to achieve at their reception.

Just the Deets
Although you can get married in the huge saltwater aquarium at Silverton, complete with “mermaid” bridesmaids and shark groomsmen, the stylish Veil Pavilion is much more popular with brides and grooms, especially with local couples.

Indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony and reception sites are available, but it is the modern and flexible ballroom style space of the Veil Pavilion (actually a concert venue that is attached to the hotel) that holds the most design possibilities, and can host your entire wedding day under one roof. Alternate ceremony venues on the Silverton property include the Sway Pool Lounge and Garden Walkway, however, if you just want to host your reception in the pavilion.

The rustic theme of the hotel is carried into the venue, but is not overwhelming. The color palette is primarily white, with uplighting accents to transform the space and elegant antler chandeliers overhead. High ceilings enhance the large stage and a built-in dance floor. The large space (capacity of up to 350 guests) can be designed to include small sitting areas and private areas for the bride and groom, while the neutral palette and furnishings make it flexible for any event design and a very modern Vegas wedding venue option, overall.

Factor In
It is an off Strip hotel and casino, so hotel pricing for guests can be a little more affordable, and there is a shuttle from the Strip.

Melissa + Wade’s Harlem Shaking Wedding at Silverton’s Veil Pavilion

A party filled wedding at Veil Pavilion at Silverton Hotel + Cas

Melissa and Wade were married earlier this spring in an absolutely party rockin’, ground shakin’ wedding and reception at Veil Pavilion at Silverton Hotel! F-Sequence Studio captured the beauty and excitement of the day in the photos below, but also be sure to keep scrolling and check out the live action in a video from Something New Films, especially if you are a fan of wacky wedding dance videos. (And who isn’t on a Friday?!)

I really like Silverton Hotel & Casino. In addition to a really awesome aquarium (where you can exchange vows underwater) the property has a rustic mountain lodge type feel, as well as a dedicated wedding and events center called Veil. It’s totally my style: antler chandeliers, wood accents and dramatic lighting, plus theatre-style drapery and a massive dance floor.

Speaking of dance floor… this crazy reception dance party saw the bridal party ditch their wedding finery for unique costumes to do the Harlem Shake as a surprise to their guests. Feather boas, E.T. and even a pink gorilla made appearances for the incredible group dance.

Deacon Tyler, the photographer: “We had never shot at Silverton Casino before, but the experience was wonderful and we had full permission to photograph both inside and outside of the casino.  It was refreshing and a great opportunity to capture some of the excitement of a true Las Vegas wedding and we actually got photo bombed by a beautiful mermaid at the aquarium!”

Walk on the Wild Side: 8 Vegas Wedding Venues for Animal Lovers

8 Vegas Wedding Venues featuring Animals

Las Vegas is full of opportunities for observing human animals, but also a variety of other species as well. What’s more, many of these locations allow for special events, including wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Read on for some of the more “wild” Vegas wedding venues!

Silverton Casino

This off-Strip resort and casino boasts one of the most spectacular aquariums I’ve ever seen. It’s 117,000 gallons of salt water goodness, with many species of ray, shark and over 4,000 tropical fish. If that’s not enough, check out the jellyfish tank in the Mermaid Lounge or roll over to Bass Pro Shops to see some taxidermied land animals and freshwater fish tanks.

The wedding actually takes place underwater, and can include mermaids in lieu of bridesmaids, if yours prefer not to get wet.

 Sagebrush Ranch

Sagebrush Ranch is a horse ranch close to Las Vegas and they feature horseback weddings. Brings new meaning to the word “getting hitched.” This company will pick you up from your hotel, wed you in the desert and then treat you to a cowboy steak dinner afterwards.

Lion Habitat Ranch

When the MGM shut down their legendary lion habitat to make room for a nightclub in 2012, many wondered what would become of the lions. Well, they’ve just stopped commuting so much, and are spending their days full time on their ranch (they used to be brought daily to the MGM.) Around 40 lions, cubs to adults, live on the ranch. It’s located at 12175 Bermuda Road and the ranch is now open the public, including meet and greets with the lions, corporate events and even weddings.

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

It’s been mentioned many times on this blog, but Mandalay Bay hosts one wedding at day inside the Shark Reef at 9am before the aquarium opens to the public. In addition to the early hour, you are only allowed a certain number of guests. Unlike the Silverton Casino aquarium, you get to stay dry, but it is sure to be a memorable experience nonetheless.

Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary

When I contacted the staff at the Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary, they stated that they have not yet held weddings in their facility (after a fire a few years ago, they have been renovating and upgrading) but they were open to it. They have an outdoor gazebo and you have the added benefit of being surrounded by some of the incredible local wildlife and plants found in and around the deserts of Nevada in addition to other amazing animals. {Goat photo courtesy: vgsgeek}

Bonnie Springs Ranch

This little gem is part replica western town, part zoo, part wedding venue. You can have a western style wedding with a BBQ dinner and meet some ponies, peacocks and potbellied pigs to name a few of the animals. They are also home to the Red Rock Riding stables, and so they offer horseback rides and weddings as well as an on-site motel.

Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat

This special area at the Mirage is not just an animal education center, it’s also a special events venue for rent. The tropical area offers lush foliage and the chance to meet white lions, white tigers, panthers, leopards, and bottlenose dolphins.

Flamingo Gardens

The Flamingo name isn’t just arbitrary – the on Strip hotel features a large garden that is the home to over 300 birds, including a pat (the fancy word for flock) of Chilean flamingos, as well as swans, ducks, turtle and koi. The hotel chapel does have a special ceremony called Butterfly Kisses which is set amongst the birds in their tropical garden and features a live release of butterflies during the ceremony.

9 Thrillingly Unique Vegas Wedding Venues: Skydiving, Scuba Diving and More!

Some of us love adrenaline more than others, and for those people, I recommend one of these totally awesome, totally exciting Las Vegas wedding ceremony venues. They’re for the couple who wants something even more memorable than a Las Vegas wedding, something a little out of the ordinary, something CRAZY!

photo: Stratosphere Hotel

We’re on a ride!

Roller Coaster Ceremony: Perhaps not the best for anxious or nervous brides and grooms, NY NY offers a roller coaster wedding. Getting wed at 67 miles per hour sound up your alley? With limited windows available you can get married in 15 minutes at a cost of about $600-$700.

Thrill Ride Wedding: If roller coasters are too tame for you, maybe you’d prefer to get married on the edge of the tallest building in Las Vegas while on a ride. The Stratosphere Chapel in the Clouds offers wedding ceremonies on the observation deck of the Stratosphere tower, then a ride on one of the rides they have 855 feet above the Strip. Packages ($339-429) include champagne, tower admission for 15 guests, a thrill ride on Big Shot, Insanity or X-Scream for four guests. Photography is extra.

photo: Lazy Toad

We’re on a boat!

Pirate Ship Wedding: T.I. (Treasure Island) in Las Vegas has a unique wedding for those of you who love cannons, sexy pirates and ships – “Song Ship Wedding“. This package ($1675-$3760+) allows the couple and two guests onto the ship at Siren’s Cove along the Strip for their ceremony, with room for other guests within 100 feet of the ship. There is a bit of pirate pomp and circumstance involved in the nuptials, so this is a bit themed more than exciting, but no telling when the Captain may swing in and try to snatch the bride away. No word on if a puffy shirt are mandatory for the groom.

Yacht Wedding: Not far from Las Vegas is Lake Mead, and that would make for a great day on the water, getting married on a yacht ($1300-$7000+) and partying after the fact, maybe even on a jet ski rental. Another excellent option would be to rent a houseboat for some time, have the ceremony and get to spend some time with a group of people playing on the water before and after the wedding.

photo: Silverton Lodge and Casino

We’re almost in a boat!

Silverton Scuba Diving Wedding: The Silverton casino, a little ways off the Strip offers a unique package that allows a couple to get hitched while scuba diving amongst 4000 fish, stingrays and sharks in their amazing 117,000-gallon aquarium. You can even request mermaids to serve as bridesmaids. Crazy!

Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Wedding: If you’d prefer to wear more traditional wedding attire as opposed to a wetsuit, you can get married beside the sharks at the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef. The package ($1500-1600) includes fees, champagne and a honeymoon suite. There are no outside photographers. The ceremony can only happen at 9am, before the aquarium opens to the public, and there is only room for 10 witnesses.

photo: Taylored Photo Memories

We’re in the air!

How about taking the plunge while flying through the air? Vegas Extreme Skydiving offers wedding packages to those who are truly seeking thrills ($1299+) While you do not actually get married while in the air, it is up to you if you want to get married on the ground then take the leap together, or do it after you’ve safely landed.

Helicopter Wedding: There is also the option to ride a helicopter to your wedding destination, ensuring privacy, and a thrilling memory to have forever. I’m told the views are also pretty special as well, both from the helicopter or the destination you touch down at to say your vows at, like the Grand Canyon or Red Rock Canyon. (Several companies offer this service) For photos from real Las Vegas helicopter weddings, check some out here!

We’re wearing runners!

A Marathon Wedding: Just this past weekend, the Las Vegas Rock n Roll marathon happened, and did you know they do weddings during it? Although they recommend it is for vow renewals, people have gotten hitched in the very quick (who wants to ruin their running time?) group ceremony. It happens at 5:45 outside NY NY Casino, and is free for entrants.

This list is certainly not the limit of what amazing wedding ceremonies you can have in Las Vegas. What’s your favorite Vegas wedding venue for adventure seeking couples?
