Starting a new series for Little Vegas Wedding is always a lot of fun, so I am pleased to announce “5 Favorites!” It’s a new venue spotlight series that will be highlighting some of the prettiest and most popular wedding venues in Las Vegas.
Kicking the series off today is waterside wedding venues. Yes, that’s right. Las Vegas features some beautiful wedding venues with a gorgeous waterfront or waterside location…even one under water! There are lots of choices in the city, but here are five of my favorites for a waterside wedding in Vegas.

Lotus Court at Westin Lake Las Vegas
Lotus Court at the Westin has an extraordinary location, boasting a view of Lake Las Vegas while being surrounded by fire features, fountains and tropical foliage. If you are seeking a traditional hotel setting with a Moroccan flair and lakeside setting, this is definitely a venue to consider. And if Lotus Court doesn’t fit the bill, Westin Lake Las Vegas features a few other lakeside venues and even a beach option!

Seascape Ballroom at Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef Aquarium
The Seascape Ballroom is a unique waterside wedding venue in Las Vegas: it’s actually under water! Located within the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, this venue will allow you to go under the sea with your guests as they watch sharks and other sealife swim past the reception. Incredible and unforgettable.

Poolside at Four Seasons
The chic boutique Four Seasons Las Vegas is located within Mandalay Bay, giving it a very private feel. They happen to have an extraordinary poolside venue, popular for both wedding ceremonies and receptions. The elegant Fountain Terrace also features water in a tropical fountain waterfall and is popular for ceremonies or cocktail hours.

Hyde Nightclub at Bellagio
Oh, those famous Bellagio fountains! The romance of this location ranks it highly for not only wedding ceremonies, but for engagements, too. Although the fountains and replica of Lake Como they are in can host weddings from many locations, get up close and personal with them inside the luxe Hyde Nightclub. The iconic fountains can be timed perfectly with your vows, dancing behind you as you share your first kiss.

The Lake Club at SouthShore Golf Club
Get married right on the water’s edge at The Lake Club at SouthShore, located at Lake Las Vegas. This venue hosts both ceremonies (particularly beautiful at sunset) and receptions next to a villa-style club house. Pair the wedding with a cocktail hour cruise for your guests to complete that nautical feeling!

Some of us just know we want a Vegas wedding. Whether it’s the built-in party atmosphere, the incredible food and venues or the glitz, glamour and neon that draw us to the city, we have just always known.
Such is the case with Gregan, the bride in today’s post (who is actually a Vegas local!) She said she just always wanted a Vegasy wedding, and what she got was Vegas…and then some. Although this wedding was held at the epic location of Westin Lake Las Vegas, many touches of The Strip and old Sin City completed Phillip and Gregan’s wedding. Vegas-themed centerpieces, showgirls, an incredible Vegas in text cake and a bridal portrait session at The Neon Museum did not let people forget they were in Las Vegas.
And I agree with the bride, I also wish there was a surprise for every couple getting married. And if it’s Elvis to sing to the guests? All the better.
WHY LAS VEGAS?
I didn’t know sparkling, red-feathered showgirls or an Elvis wearing more makeup than I was would show up at my wedding reception. Or that I would start crying before I ever stepped onto the aisle. I didn’t know if the bridesmaids’ colorful dresses would work out. I didn’t know there would be Lego figures on the cake. But what I did know is that I’ve always wanted a Vegas wedding.
Or I had joked as much. Really, I never thought I’d get married. And then I met Phillip. After a couple years he popped the question on a sparkling beach in Greece one hot August vacation. When I was in college I would always say if I ever did get married I’d want to have a Vegas themed wedding. Not a drive-thru or a chapel, but something with glitter and lights. Phillip took my enthusiasm for this glitzy theme and let me run with it.
THE CEREMONY — Lotus Court at Westin Lake Las Vegas
Phillip and I wanted a ceremony with a beautiful backdrop and all of the people we love there. That was our dream wedding.
The Westin Lake Las Vegas was one of the first venues we choose to tour because Phillip and I had our first kiss there overlooking the sparkling man-made lake.
After touring dozens of other wedding venues — making lots of calls and rejecting several contracts — Phillip and I signed with the Westin. We loved the idea of getting married outside near a body of water at a place that meant so much to us.
The ceremony (besides being in August) was perfect. The set up was simple and gorgeous. Everything ran smoothly thanks to the venue co-ordinators and the seasoned vendors we hired. If only I could have stopped crying sooner.
THE RECEPTION — Baraka Ballroom at Westin Lake Las Vegas
I think the new trend for weddings should be that surprise moment. Something the bride and/or groom doesn’t know about. That moment for us was definitely when the King of Rock himself walked into the room, ushered by two glamorous showgirls. It was so Vegas!
DETAILS + DECOR
Phillip and I spent a whole year thinking, planning and saving for this wedding. So we both had plenty of time to think about the decorations and how much we could spend.
My brother, sister and I helped created the Mr. & Mrs. sign that decorated the head table. It was really easy, with this DIY. We also made our runner using two LED light strips. So the aisle had a touch of Vegas.
I made my glittering brooch bouquet from lots of sniper bid wins on Ebay. I also asked my bridesmaids make their own bouquets.
We also decided to print our invitations, save the dates, seating cards and table markers on the backs of playing cards. For the program, a family member helped by writing the schedule of events and bridal party names on two vintage mirrors.
Also, our centerpiece, though very planned out, were all tossed together that morning. We piled casino chips, dice and playing cards around these inexpensive fiber optic lights we bought for each table. Many of our guests ended up pocketing some of the good luck charms at the end of the night. We also wrote our own vows!
The whole wedding had so many moments. The ceremony to me was unforgettable. I really couldn’t stop crying. The whole day was emotional. Also, I don’t think Phillip has ever looked so sharp. So our first look was definitely a standout moment for me. Our photographer Edina suggested a first look photo opportunity because Phillip and I did take photos in the Neon Boneyard back in the springtime when the weather was much cooler. So Phillip had already seen me in the dress. The first look photos were a great chance for us to see each other in a special way before taking family photos and the ceremony.
LAS VEGAS WEDDING TIPS FROM GREGAN AND PHILLIP
Start saving now. Also, talk with your partner about the most important things about your wedding. There may come a time when sacrifices have to be made, decide early on what’s most important. And trust me, some aspects you feel are essential to your big day really are not. We didn’t have any flower centerpieces and no one minded. However, photos are something that were very important to me and Phillip, so we knew we had to get an exceptional photographer.
GUESTCOUNT + BUDGET
We had approximately 140 guests for around $25,000

Video games at a wedding? Be still my heart! This very special wedding debuts a few new elements to Little Vegas Wedding: the first feature photographed by the fantastic Altf Photography, the first wedding planned and submitted by planning pro Andrea Eppolito and, of course, those video games!
From a masculine groom’s cake and videogames to a wedding cake decorated with roses and pearl strands and centrepieces dripping in crystals, this romantic wedding absolutely reflects a union between two people which is really what a wedding is all about. Andrea delves into the heartfelt details behind Eric and Amy’s wedding below; please read on and absorb the details from this incredible lakeside wedding full of romantic (and fun!) details.
More from Andrea Eppolito about this wedding:
They say you can’t meet anyone in a nightclub…but what if you meet on the way out? Lightening can strike.
That’s exactly what happened when Eric and Amy ran into one another after a night out with friends. He was the self-professed Las Vegas bad-boy with a chip on his shoulder and a line for every situation. She was the Southern California stunner studying pre-law who wasn’t biting!
Eric would not take no for an answer, and after finally getting her phone number he proceeded to court her old school with phone calls that lasted long into the night, text messages, emails, and enough flowers to fill a florist! In fact, to this day, Eric has a standing order for roses and lilies, ensuring that Amy is never without something to make her feel special.
From our first meeting, it was obvious that this would be a team effort. Amy had a very strong vision of what she wanted in terms of colors and design. Her heart was set on getting married on the water, which reminded her of her native San Diego. With a color palette of steel gray and pale pinks and a request to accent the space with roses, petals, and crystals for a soft and romantic feel.
While Eric was happy to give her what she wanted, he also wanted to ensure that he wasn’t lost in the process. He didn’t want to feel like he was living in a pale pink wonderful complete with cotton candy and sugared flowers. After making an off-the-cuff comment that the best parties he ever went to were the ones that ended with Golden Tee video games, we decided to build an outdoor arcade complete with multiple machines, candy stations, and fire pits with s’mores set ups. A nod to both Eric’s college days and Amy’s time on the boardwalks of San Diego, the balcony was intended to give Eric and the boys a place to retreat from all things pink, and ended up being the hit of the night where guests gathered for story telling, cocktails, and more than a few laughs.
As a surprise for her groom, a man who wooed her with super-human efforts, Amy arranged for the photo booth to have LED light up super hero masks, and for a Groom’s Cake that featured all of the naughty Vegas activities that Eric once loved.

I love a romantic, traditional wedding, and Julie and Gaetano’s wedding at Lake Las Vegas was just that, overflowing with love and personal details. They were married at a venue well-suited to Julie’s vision of a fairytale wedding, the gorgeous Capella Di Amore at Hilton Lake Las Vegas, a dramatic chapel that hovers over water. Despite losing her voice, Julie powered through and married her sweetheart. Soft pink colors mixed with Tiffany blue and a hugely dramatic wedding gown perfected this classic Las Vegas wedding and make this couple’s dream day come true.
The Ceremony –Capella Di Amore at Hilton Lake Las Vegas
Before I met Gaetano, I was that little girl who dreamt of a fairytale wedding, I always knew I wanted to feel like a princess on my big day. So when my Prince Charming asked me to marry him I couldn’t have been more thrilled to start planning. I chose the Hilton at Lake Las Vegas because of their beautiful chapel on the bridge. It was exactly what I was looking for! Our wedding was beautiful and a very special day in our lives.
There were a couple small speed bumps along the way. I completely lost my voice on the wedding day — I woke up and could hardly make a sound! I actually found it a blessing in disguise. I was able to kick my feet up while my sister/maid of honor handled everything. I drank warm tea and saved my voice for my vows. I was able to say them and be heard. Another minor issue was my flowergirl dresses, I decided to get crafty and make them myself. I used the prettiest tulle, full of glitter. Unfortunately glitter is really itchy! My flowergirls were all red and begging to take their dresses off after we took pictures. They sure did look cute though.
DIY Details + Decor
Other than the flowergirl dresses (the only DIY projects that went wrong, thank goodness!) my sister and I made the flowergirl wands, table numbers, menus, seating name cards, bouquet for the toss, favors, garters and much more. I saved a bunch of money making these myself and they gave my venue a unique feel.
Julie and Gaetano’s Wedding Tips
One planning tip I have is pick a good wedding coordinator! I was so lucky to have Debbie (Ravella’s wedding coordinator) she was so good at keeping me organized and on time. She was very helpful in making decisions before the wedding and helping my wedding day to go as smoothly as possible. We had a guest list of 75 people and everyone knew where to go and what to do.

The first thing I noticed from today’s wedding? The bride Ashley’s absolutely dazzling smile. Every single photo, it looks like she is having the time of her life – and so does everyone else attending. This destination wedding photographed by j. anne photography at Westin Lake Las Vegas transformed the stunning hotel venue into a theatre, if only for one night.
A palette of vibrant marine blue with pops of yellow energized the overall theme which combined theatre inspired and art deco details. The bride, who is a professional dancer, came to Las Vegas with her husband all the way from Australia. I love the “costume change” part way through the reception – Ashley exchanges her full ballroom style tulle skirt for a sexier, more fitted version!
