Although this styled fashion shoot is just a little bit bridal (love that amazing black tulle wedding dress!) I just had to share it because I can never say no to retro fashion or a shoot at Nelson’s Landing ghost town at Eldorado Canyon! I know some of you dig that 1950s style as much as I do.
Davista Photography styled this bridal pinup session there, complete with cupcakes, birdcage veil and some gorgeous gowns. It’s a fun and fashion-y idea for a themed trash the dress or rock the frock shoot. Or maybe as is common in the south: bridal portraits ahead of the wedding. Either way, a great setting for some retro fun!

From time to time I like to peek in on the Vegas wedding tag on social media. There are all sorts of goodies in there: people wishing for Vegas weddings, people going to Vegas weddings, and sometimes people who are having awesome Vegas weddings.
Recently I was lucky enough to stumble across totally fun Instagram video that highlighted a vow renewal in just a short 15 seconds. This charming pocket film by Jason Magbanua documented Abet and Benz’s anniversary Vegas vow renewal celebrating 15 years. I was hooked and had to know more!
Abet and Benz came from the Philippines for a road trip tour of the United States with friends, and planned their Vegas vow renewal spontaneously along the way. The couple happen to run a very successful wedding website called Weddings at Work (W@W for short) helping Filipino couples find suppliers and vendors for their weddings.
When you talk about, write and share wedding information all day, it’s no surprise that you are drawn to the simplicity of Las Vegas, and it’s also no surprise you want something fun, easy and memorable. So the couple decided to have a drive thru wedding at A Special Memory Wedding Chapel.
Although the ceremony was quick and simple, the rest of the wedding was packed with meaning and details that you would expect from a couple who have been together 15+ years. Of course, they also happen to be details that are drawn from a couple who know the best wedding vendors in the Philippines – some of whom are travelling with you in your bridal party!
Benz wore a custom hand painted dress based on a tattoo she has. Abet, a Vespa lover, included scooter details in his accessories. Vegas appeared in a bouquet and corsages with a casino and gambling theme. When the time came, the couple drove up to the window in a red hot Ford Mustang and exchanged vows…again.
The 5 person wedding party then cruised down the highway in their convertible to Eldorado Canyon in Nelson to get some desert shots before indulging in dinner at Mon Ami Gabi back on The Strip. A totally fun and fabulous Vegas vow renewal!

It’s been a while since an Eldorado Canyon shoot was featured on Little Vegas Wedding, so I thought today’s engagement would be a nice re-introduction. It’s got some great ring shots, cool typographic and rustic prop details, the awesome scenery of the former mining town and of course, a killer couple. You’ve gotta check these two out!
Ventura and Terrence met up with Key Lime Photography at the little scenic town (sometimes called Nelson ghost town) for this engagement session. The props were brought by the photographers, but Ventura, the bride to be, had the idea for the message to write on the chalkboards.
This couple met while working together at a Strip resort, and began dating in the summer of 2012. Terrence asked Ventura to marry him in a really touching way several months later. Be sure to read their proposal story below, with the pictures!
The dynamic duo will be holding their wedding in Vegas during the summer of 2014. Best of luck to you during your wedding planning, Ventura and Terrence!

And how did the proposal go down?
Ventura fills us in: “Memorial Day weekend – March 25th to be exact – we had just finished working a 15-hour shift and we were on our way home from work at 6am. I was starving so we stopped at Roberto’s for burritos. (editor’s note: yum!) I remember specifically saying, “Hunny, you can never propose to me, I love you but you’re just not romantic, if you did something romantic I’d think you did something wrong,” and he laughed about that.
“On our way home he asked me to drive through the back entrance of our gated community. When we got closer, he asked me to pull off the road at the same spot where he had first told me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He then told me how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, as the sun was coming up. Of course, me being the sarcastic person I am said, “Are you asking me to marry you??” He said yes, my response was then, “Do you have something to back it up??” He said, “Like this??” And pulled out my ring… With that the word “yes” just kept coming out of my mouth.”
Awwww! Aren’t romantic surprises when you least expect them the best?!
Today’s just married couples shoot is a little bit retro rockabilly, a little bit pinup and a lot of cute! Ashley and Scott had arranged to get married at Little Church of the West – the same spot Scott’s parents were wed at years previously. But before they exchanged vows, they headed out to Nelson Ghost Town at Eldorado Canyon for a pre-wedding shoot with Taylored Photo Memories.

I’m sure there will be a part two to today’s Throwback Thursday since there are so many wedding venue choices off The Strip! But these weddings highlighted today show off a great variety of very different spaces for weddings and receptions available if you are eager to avoid Las Vegas Boulevard.
