I haven’t been sharing as many engagement sessions recently, but was captivated by Zack and Kat’s, shot on location in the Valley of Fire. It’s such an amazing location if you love nature or geology, isn’t it? The colors and shapes are beautiful, and Kat’s smile is beaming!
Although I can’t say the Valley of Fire sounds like an appealing summertime road trip, to these Vegas locals it was a natural choice for their engagement photos. Those rocks and that alien-esque desert scenery was a big draw, despite it being August (!) and 110°F (!!) The shots with the empty road winding behind them are my favorite. It feels like they are the only ones in the world.

Have you seen the movie Up? It’s one of my favorite animated films, and although it makes me cry at times, it’s also so sweet. The couple in today’s engagement shoot, Chris and Michelle, also love the film and decided to theme their photos around it. After finding 40 balloons, the perfect venue and an adventurous photographer, these fantastic photos were the result. Too cute! Be sure to read the story behind the photos from the photographer, Cassidy Zellmann, at the bottom of the post!
More from the photographer:
Chris, who found me via Yelp, and I exchanged emails and phone conversations for almost two months before the shoot going over details, locations, propping, styling, and anything else that was going to help us make the most of their time for this engagement session. We settled on a location with a more vintage feel to it: The Clark County Heritage Museum! I adore shooting at this place because it has so many wonderful and different aspects to it. I have yet to have one session even resemble another.
Chris and Michelle gathered propping on their own end: suspenders, printables, and a helium balloon kit (oh that was fun lol!) And those glasses? They are actually Chris’ regular glasses which I must say were pretty awesome. I made sure to load up my car with any other vintage inspired propping me might use: luggage, a vintage 1940’s picnic basket (yes it’s that old, it was my great-grandmother’s) plus a picnic blanket to help pull this shoot off.
When we had finished with the shoot, Michelle had the thought to take them back to a child who was in a photo session with another photographer there that day. Little moments like that made this a beautiful session.

Stormy skies over Las Vegas only amplified this styled wedding shoot session at Spring Mountain Ranch. The mulit-colored scenery of the mountain range pops against the steely gray sky, and creates a dramatic backdrop for this bridal inspiration shoot.
Vintage bridal gowns from Katie Jean Designs and antique props styled by Nostalgia Resources well with the floral crown and relaxed casual look for the groom. Super pretty desert wedding style!

Hyde at Bellagio is a spectacular spot. Luxurious decor and a fantastic view of the Bellagio fountains and mid-Strip excitement make it a great spot for drinks and a night out, of course. However it’s also fantastic for fashion shoots and weddings, and even engagements. I’m super happy to be sharing Matt and Mylin’s engagement photos there today!
Matt and Mylin asked Fabio and Adri Photography for a “high fashion” shoot, and they delivered. I love that they wore elegant evening wear; a tux for him and a slinky black lace number for her. From the photos you might mistake them for models, but Mylin works in the wedding industry and Matt works in the nightclub hospitality business in Las Vegas, so Hyde was a great choice for their engagement photos. The more casual photos were shot at Las Vegas Country Club with the couple’s beloved rescue dogs, Al and Charlie. Matt and Mylin will be marrying in California in the fall. Congratulations!

If you are in any way a regular reader of Little Vegas Wedding, you know I am a dog lover. I especially love when a couple incorporates their friend into wedding photos, or engagement photos as Stacey and Bryan have, today.
Jenna Ebert Photography went out around Red Springs to capture this super cute couple (who are marrying in Arizona next month) and their dog, Buster. Buster helped announce the forthcoming marriage on Stacey and Bryan’s save the date cards with a sign the bride-to-be made.
I love the earthy, casual feel of the location and the outfits they chose to rock for the photos. Fabulous — have fun at the wedding next month, guys!
